Jeep Compass, the premium SUV once tried making lot of noise in the Indian market, is all set to make a big comeback as Jeep Compass 2021! The facelift version of the Compass was revealed at the 2020 Guangzhou International Motor Show. This SUV gets tweaked exterior styling and a revamped interior with this mid-cycle update.
Before we talk about the changes and other details, let’s hear from Jeep India on the new 2021 Jeep Compass:
Jeep Compass 2021 – Exterior:
The biggest change is honeycomb-like inserts on the seven-slat chrome front grille and a new front bumper with a large air dam that runs from end-to-end and houses the fog lamps. Apart from these, the Jeep Compass facelift gets tweaked headlights with integrated LED DRLs.
Though there are no noticeable changes to the side and rear of the SUV, it gets new design alloy wheels and a tweaked faux front skid plate. The LED taillights and a faux rear skid plate are also added to the exterior.
Jeep Compass Interior:
This is the main talking point for the facelift version. You would have already heard about the changes in the above video from Jeep India, the interior of the new Jeep Compass is completely revamped. A floating 10.1-inch touchscreen takes centre stage, below which are the new, slim AC vents and HVAC controls. This touchscreen will come with FCA’s UConnect 5 infotainment system and is likely to feature integrated Amazon Alexa support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and can also receive over-the-air updates.
The dashboard adds with double-stitched leather inserts and brushed aluminium-like trim, which ups the SUV’s premium factor. The new Jeep Compass 2021 also gets a new three-spoke steering wheel and a large, full-digital instrument cluster. With these new inserts, the Compass facelift however retains the panoramic sunroof of the pre-facelift model.
Jeep Compass 2021 Price:
It could be priced from Rs 17 lakh onwards (ex-showroom) though the official pricing is yet to be known.
The new Compass retains the same engine options as before I,e. 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (163 hp) and 2.0-litre diesel (173 hp). Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual with the turbo-petrol getting the choice of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The diesel engine will continue to be offered with a 9-speed automatic option as well. The AWD (all-wheel-drive) will be limited to the diesel models.
