The Nissan Magnite is a new subcompact SUV from the Japanese car maker that went on sale in India on December 2, 2020. The SUV is built on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-A+ platform, which also underpins the Renault Triber MPV. Before we get into the details, let’s look at the first drive review from the experts Autocar India:

Nissan Magnite Price:

The Magnite is priced from Rs 4.99 lakh for it’s “XE” variant and goes up to Rs 9.59 lakh for “Turbo CVT XV Prm Opt DT Tech Pack” variant (ex-showroom). It is said that these prices are valid for customers who book the car before December 31, 2020, post which the starting price will go up to Rs. 5.45 lakh

Nissan Magnite Engine:

The new Nissan Magnite 2020 comes with two petrol engine options I,e. a 1.0 litre naturally aspirated motor and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit. While the former is tuned to make around 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, the turbo-petrol unit makes 99 bhp and 160 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox for both the engines, however, the turbo petrol unit also comes with an optional CVT automatic unit, and that one offers slightly less torque at 152 Nm.

Nissan Magnite Mileage:

The new SUV’s mileage is expected to be at 17.7 to 20 Kmpl, as per ARAI. The Manual Petrol engine has a mileage of 20 Kmpl and the Automatic Petrol engine has a mileage of 17.7 Kmpl.

Nissan Magnite Interior:

The cabin comes as a refreshing change. It’s dominated by an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the middle of the dashboard, with easy to read icons as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility; it must be mentioned here that both can be activated wirelessly, which is a big change. You can also get a wireless smartphone charger in the higher trim model, which essentially means you don’t have to carry a cable at all.

You also get a newly designed steering wheel with perfectly placed controls. Also, an all-digital instrument cluster which doesn’t bombard you with all manner of information.

Nissan Magnite Features and Specifications:

This new SUV comes with the signature Datsun-style grille with the chrome brackets, albeit with the new Nissan logo. The tall hood, muscular lines, and the beefy claddings add an aggressive stance, while features like LED projector headlamps, DRLs, dual-tone 16-inch diamond-cut alloys, LED taillights and the chrome styling elements add to its premium-ness. And, the centrally positioned Magnite logo add to its bold look.

The Magnite also gets roof-rails which can hold up to 50 kilograms. In terms of dimensions, the new Nissan Magnite measures 3,994 mm in length, 1,758 mm in width, 1,572 mm in height, while the wheelbase stands at 2,500 mm. The Magnite also comes with a wheelbase of 205 mm.

Conclusion:

Well, if you want the most premium and sophisticated pick from the segment, the Magnite probably isn’t for you.
